INSIDE with The Goddess Space.

The Goddess Space at home
I am delighted to introduce Anoushka, founder of The Goddess Space as an Insider at THE THREAD JOURNAL. I am fascinated by Anoushka’s personal way of helping to facilitate a reconnection back to spirit, and the role that space plays in this process.
The Goddess Space creates beautiful sacred spaces to support, hold, and empower us to rediscover lost parts of ourselves, allowing us to rise into our fullest selves.
Anoushka offers one-to-one spirit sessions, nomadic goddess gatherings and tailored pop-up events/private ritual gatherings including women’s circles and baby blessings.
I asked Anoushka about her connection to ‘sacred space’ on a personal level and how a soul connection to surroundings helps her work…

Describe who you are and what you do.

My name is Anoushka, and I birthed The Goddess Space; a sacred space for women to reconnect with themselves.

What led you on your path?

It was a calling that got louder and louder the longer I ignored it. I always knew deep down that there was more to life than what I saw, but until I allowed myself to open my eyes to it, I was stuck in an illusionary reality created by my mind. It was a reality that was based on fear, limited thinking and lack of belief – as such, my outer world reflected just that.

The path came to me when I was in my early twenties, I was on top of a mountain in Africa, and I knew everything was about to change. From that day on, I began to listen to this voice, allowing it to take me where it wanted to go… and five years later, I am talking to you through that very same voice that led me here; the voice of my spirit.

Where is home for you?

My physical home is in Little Venice, London. We have just moved in and it has been a true blessing to create this sacred space with my husband to-be and our beautiful chocolate Labrador; Spirit-Child.

How would you describe your home?

My home is a beautiful sacred space, the ceilings are high, there is an air of weightlessness as you enter. The tones that fill up the space are earthy, with rustic wooden floors, natural linens, gingham vintage table runners lie on our farm table. Plants and herbs adorn every corner, from olive trees, to ferns, Kentia palms to rosemary. When people enter the space, they feel the energy immediately. Its a light, fresh, calming energy that is created by intentionally cleansing the space with sage or frankincense.

What does homecoming mean to you?

Home is any space I feel safe in letting my spirit be free. Home is where I can just exist, in my fullness, in my authenticity, in my truth.

What is the first thing you do when you return home?

I usually light something on fire, whether its a sage stick to cleanse my energy, or incense to fill the space with new energy.

How do you unwind in your home?

Bathing, cooking, pottering around in my robes, or just lying down with a candle listening to a beautiful podcast. Some of my favourites are,

My go-to recipe for a beautiful detoxification ritual bath is:

*Himalayan sea salt

*Lemon slices

*Eucalyptus oil

*Black pepper oil

Do you have a sacred space or favourite place in your home?

My favourite space at the moment is my kitchen. I keep giggling with my soul sisters that I’ve become a ‘house witch’ (rather than ‘housewife’!!) I love being in my kitchen, filling up my herb cupboard, trying out new recipes and concocting new potions! It’s such a creative space for me to tune into my feminine energy, to create, to give and to receive.

What makes a space sacred?

Intention – any space can become a sacred space when you connect to your energy and seal your intentions into that space. Spaces hold energy and reflect what you put into them. So if you’re seeking to create a sacred space, make that an intention.

Choose every piece of furniture, place every object, adorn your space with the intention of it becoming a sacred space for you and for those who enter.

How does the ethos of your sacred space play a part in your work?

Through creating physical sacred spaces, I’ve come to learn that it is both an inward and outward process. The space you create outside of yourself becomes the sacred space you allow yourself to enter inside. My work is all about creating sacred spaces to hold both your body and soul.

What practices or rituals do you carry out in your home or ‘sacred space’?

I cleanse my space energetically using smoke to lift off any negative or unwanted energy, sage or frankincense are my go-to! Just be careful you don’t blow the smoke too near to your smoke alarm – I’ve learnt that the hard way!

 What are your home aspirations?

To continue bringing magik, love and sacredness to my space, and allowing my style to evolve alongside my connection to myself.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?

My dream one day is to move to the countryside. To have a big farmhouse by a  woodland, with lots of animals, my own vegetable and herb garden.

My dream is to create sacred spaces for women to come to the countryside to restore, reconnect and remember who they really are.
