ARIES SEASON interiors – how to bring warmth into your home.

St Quentin de la Poterie street style, a warm palette and tiles for Aries season

“When a sunbeam falls on a transparent substance, the substance itself becomes brilliant, and radiates light from itself”.

Basil of Caesarea

Just like that we are in the midst of Aries season, the sign that ignites the start of the new astrological year.
Aries brings with it a spark of renewal and new beginnings, especially as here in the UK, it coincides with the equinox and the start of spring.
The tipping of the balance of light and the growing strength of solar power (even if we can’t feel it yet…!)  signals a reawakening and reemergence.
This forward motion comes to the fore in an Aries season interior through a profusion of light, warming mellow colours, strong lines and materials to create a feeling of refreshing expansiveness.

A warm and mellow palette.

An Arian interior is swathed in a mellow palette of hues with warm, golden undertones. A riot of russet, terracotta, amber, burgundy, burnt orange, mustard are incandescent accent colours that highlight earthy new neutrals.

Bracken lime wash paint by Bauwerk Colour creates a warming embrace for the dining room in the home of Jess Alavi-Ellis.

Finding direction.

Aries gives us the impetus to move forward with a renewed focus. This is reflected in strong lines and materials, such as the panelling and tiles in the kitchen below by Sophie Rowell @cotedefolk.

The back of the front door painted yellow (Cane by Farrow & Ball) brings a feeling of positivity and focus to the entrance hall @vincent_the_house.
We were inspired by this technique of highlighting the front door in a warm colour and painted ours in Templeton Pink by Farrow & Ball. It is particularly effective and joy-inducing in our north-facing entrance that doesn’t get a lot of natural light.

Finishing touches.

Stripes, mirrors and striking artwork bring the energetic spirit of Aries to the finishing touches in a space.

Decorative sunbeam mirrors feel particularly Arian, infusing an interior with positivity and optimism, as well as magnifying the provision of light and sending shards of sunlight around the room.
